Fall Winter Salad with Tikur Azmud

Fall Winter Salad with Tikur Azmud

Easy Fall healthy Holidays tikur azmud

Tikur Azmud

Tikur Azmud is a type of nigella or ajwain. It adds a nice crunch and pop of flavor to this fall salad. These tiny seeds may have some health benefits that help with colds that circulate when the weather cools down. This one isn't a traditional Ethiopian recipe - we just like it as a fast easy dinner salad. It's delicious as a side to roasted meats.

Ingredients

  • 2 fennel bulbs, shredded
  • ½ small red cabbage, shredded
  • 4 beets, peeled and shredded
  • 1 apple, cored and shredded
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 6 tbsp sour cream
  • 3 tbsp tikur azmud

Combine all the chopped and shredded veggies in a bowl, add sour cream, Tikur Azmud & salt to taste.

Serves: 4-6 | Prep Time: 15-20 minutes
