Mitmita Me There is a spin on a vodka sour using fruits and spices from Ethiopia. It was created for the inaugural cocktail menu at Cafe Colucci, our award winning restaurant in Oakland, CA, by Called Tails.

INGREDIENTS 

  • 1.5 oz Vodka (top choice: Vusa Vodka)
  • .5 oz Guava Puree
  • .25 oz Mango Puree
  • .75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 3-4 dashes of Spicy Mitmita Ird Tincture (or not spicy)
  • Ice
  • Edible flower for garnish
  • Mitmita or Berbere for the rim

 

TOOLS

  • Shaker
  • Strainer
  • Chilled Coupe or Martini Glass
  • Small plate with Mitmita or Berbere on it

STEPS

  1. Swipe the edge of a chilled coup with a lime wedge to wet it and roll it across the spice plate to create the cocktail rim 
  2. Combine, vodka, guava, mango and lime juice in shaker.
  3. Add ice and shake.
  4. Strain the cocktail into chilled and spiced coup.
  5. Garnish with a flower and serve.


Time: 2-5 minutes
